How to Tune a Violin Online (GDAE)

Violin strings are tuned G3-D4-A4-E5 from lowest to highest. Pluck the string with your finger while tuning — easier for beginners than bowing — and bring the needle into the green zone. Use the pegs for large adjustments and the fine tuners on the tailpiece for the last few cents.

Violin pegs are friction pegs: push the peg gently inward as you turn so it holds. Make small movements — a quarter turn is a lot on a violin, and over-tightening snaps strings. Once comfortable, check your tuning with a long, steady bowed note. Analysis runs locally; no audio is uploaded.
