How to Tune a Cello Online (CGDA)

Cello strings are tuned C2-G2-D3-A3, one octave below the viola. Pluck or bow one string at a time and bring the needle into the green zone. Because cello strings are under high tension, turn the pegs in small increments and use the fine tuners for the final adjustment.

Friction pegs can slip or stick — press the peg in slightly while turning, and never force it. If a peg will not hold, peg compound (or a little chalk) helps. Recheck the C string after the others, as tension changes across the instrument. Your audio is analyzed locally and never uploaded.
