Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PickBeat ("PickBeat", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our website, applications and services, including our guitar practice tools, tab editor and community forum (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect the information you provide, such as your username, email address and password (stored only in hashed form), as well as optional profile details like your avatar and bio.

Content you create. We store the content you choose to create or publish through the Service, including tabs and scores, posts, comments, likes and other community activity.

Locally stored data. Practice settings, editor drafts, preferences (such as language and theme) and similar data may be stored in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us unless you explicitly save or share it.

Usage and technical data. Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers automatically receive technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URLs and timestamps.

Communications. If you contact us (for example by email), we keep the correspondence so we can respond and keep a record of the request.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • to operate, maintain and secure the Service, including your account;
  • to display and distribute the content you choose to publish to the community;
  • to remember your preferences and practice progress;
  • to respond to your requests, including copyright takedown reports;
  • to analyze aggregate usage and improve features, performance and content;
  • to detect, prevent and address abuse, fraud and violations of our Terms; and
  • to comply with legal obligations.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies, browser local storage and similar technologies for essential functions (such as keeping you signed in and remembering preferences) and, where enabled, for aggregate analytics. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features of the Service.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Public content. Content you publish to the community (posts, scores, comments and your public profile) is visible to other users and visitors.
  • Service providers. We use trusted third parties to host and deliver the Service (for example, hosting and content-delivery providers such as Cloudflare), which process technical data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process or valid governmental request, or to protect the rights, property and safety of PickBeat, our users or others, including in response to copyright complaints.
  • Business transfers. If the Service is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account information and published content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostics. You may delete your content or request account deletion at any time; residual backup copies are removed within a reasonable period.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • access, correct or update your personal information;
  • delete your content or your account;
  • object to or restrict certain processing; and
  • receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

You can exercise most of these rights through your account settings or by contacting us at langkeyweb@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed password storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated and hosted using infrastructure that may be located in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries, where data protection laws may differ.

10. Third-Party Links and Content

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or content posted by users. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your rights, please contact us at langkeyweb@gmail.com.
